KlassArt Bio

My name is Kay Scott, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. My artistic exploration began in the 3rd grade with a great deal of human graphite portraits, landscape drawings, sketches and doodles. This progressed from amateur 2D outlines and sketches in a basic notepad or sketchbook, to large full detailed 3D realistic portraits of friends and family on canvas paper by 9th grade. My most favored projects were anything pertaining to realism of people portraits and human figure drawings from reference photos and developing human characters from imagination. I was most inspired by Realism artists such as Jean-Francois Millet, James Guthrie, Gustave Courbet and Winslow Homer to name a few. I’ve continued my graphite portraits with heavy inspiration from Diego Fazio, Paul Lung, Neda Sajadi and Arinze Stanley. By 11th grade I ventured additionally into Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, creating art and ideas via computer based art softwares. In 2005 I began Graphic Design courses to build my knowledge in designing professional business collateral; conceptual logos, flyers, banners, billboards, newsletters, brochures, business plan books etc. I focused heavily on professional business logos as visual concepts is my strength. I have many projects over the years reflecting my skill and experience.

In 2016, a close passing friend firmly suggested that I begin painting. I was initially unsure of my interest but, as usual, willing to try. For 3.5 years I shared my new hobby as “I’m Not a Painter but I Paint”. As difficult as it was, my patience, constant practice and 5 year goal to improve on a higher level has taken me beyond my own expectations. Painting is now my additional current passion. I am a Graphite Portrait Artist, Graphic Artist and Painter.
